"You don't have an acorn," Orphia observes. "That's right, isn't it?"

"That's right," you answer. Then you add carefully, "I'm starting to get the impression I'll be needing one."

"I daresay you will." She gets up from her seat and goes to one of her shelves, which houses an exquisitely carved wooden box. She takes it down, opens it, and pulls out a single acorn. "I could give this to you," she says, "but I wish to trade it with something else. What would you like to offer?"
