You offer Orphia the candle.
The maybe-sorceress looks genuinely pleased. "I like to work at night, so I can always use another candle. Thank you dungeoneer." She goes to a shelf, takes down the item you traded for, and exchanges it with you for the candle. Then she pauses, as if weighing something up. Finally she decides. "I would also like to offer you a spell. It is a small spell, but a good one for surviving in the dungeon. It is called MOUSE. Use it, and a mouse will appear."
You try not to look at her as if she's grown a second head, but admittedly you find that quite hard. To detract from the awkwardness, you take a wafer - if you trust her enough not to poison or hex you. If you do, return your Life Force clock to green. If not, it has ticked down by one stage since you arrived.
If you survive, Orphia has one last piece of help to offer you: "The Deadvale Flock lies ahead, towards the end of Level 1. The birds are extremely protective of their nests and will attack you. There is no reliable protection against them except to pass the Vale quickly. I wish you good speed."
With that, you rise from your chair and leave, bidding her farewell. Remember to add MOUSE to your list of spells, and to update your inventory.
