You offer Orphia the writing papers.
She seems genuinely pleased by this offer. "I write a great deal. These will be well used, I assure you. Thank you, dungeoneer!" She goes to a shelf, takes down the item you traded for, and exchanges it with you for the papers. Then she pauses, as if weighing something up. Finally she decides. "I would also like to offer you a spell. It is a small spell, but a good one for surviving in the dungeon. It is called MOUSE. Use it, and a mouse will appear."
You try not to look at her as if she's grown a second head, but you find that rather difficult. To detract from the awkwardness, you take a wafer - if you trust her enough not to poison or hex you. If you do, return your Life Force clock to green. If not, it has ticked down by one stage since you arrived.
If you survive, Orphia has one last piece of help to offer you: "The Deadvale Flock lies ahead, towards the end of Level 1. The birds are extremely protective of their nests and will attack you. There is no reliable protection against them except to pass the Vale quickly. I wish you good speed."
With that, you rise from your chair and leave, bidding her farewell. Remember to add MOUSE to your list os spells, and to update your inventory.
