You enter a space that used to be a zoological collection, but no more. Cages languish all around, and your adventuring instinct leads you to quickly identify a pathway leading around them to the most obvious exit. If nothing else, you know you can bolt for that if need be.
And you might: something feels very wrong and sick about this place. Haunted, you think. It's while you're reflecting on this that you walk up to the biggest cage yet. Big enough to once have contained... a bear?
For a moment you freeze, and not for the first time you wonder if it's possible to speak to ghosts. "Are you there?" You hear nothing. "Jasper?" Still you hear nothing.
But then, you feel something. Your heart-rate spikes and you feel like all the oxygen's been taken from the air in your lungs as something unnatural makes its presence felt. You turn in the hope of seeing whoever, or whatever, has joined you.
You see Old Jasper! His outline is vague but he's huge! In death he has become more than just a bear, and what you see is something monstrous. His eyes are haunting and strange, and mouth is wider and fuller than it should be with alongated teeth. Worse than this, he has more than one mouth. Snapping jaws open and close all over his body. If you're any good at reading animal body language (and at this point you fervently hope you're good enough at it, even on a monstrosity like this), he looks about to charge you.
Do you have any mint?
