Orphia's Study

"You don't have any mint," Orphia observes. "That's right, isn't it?"

"That's right," you confirm. Then you add carefully, "I'm not sure whether it's a good thing to have."

She gives you a mysterious smile, then gets up from her seat and goes to one of her shelves, under which is a series of hooks. Hanging from one of those hooks is a bunch of mint which has been drying in the sunlight. "Here," she says, giving it to you. "You should have this."

If you choose to accept it, do so. Update your inventory accordingly. If not, you may turn it down. Either way, Orphia has a warning for you: "The Deadvale Flock lies ahead. The birds are extremely protective of their nests and will attack you. There is no reliable protection against them except to pass the Vale quickly. I wish you good speed."

You may take a wafer if you trust her enough not to use it to poison or hex you. If you do, return your Life Force clock to green. If not, it has ticked down by one stage since you arrived. If you survive, you thank her for this advice, and then leave via the far door.
