Quintain beams. "Yes, it is peaceful! None of the other archers even know it's here so this range is all mine. I'm hoping to become the best archer on the team."
The conversation continues for a while, and Quintain explains that he's the laughing stock to the other archers and that he'd like to earn their respect, which is why he practices so hard.
Aware that your Life Force clock waits for no man, you wind down the conversation so you can move on.
The young archer accepts this gracefully, but he has one last thing to say. "I hope we meet again in the future. I have a gift for you." He reaches into his shirt and pulls forth an acorn, which he gives to you. "Sometimes, the other archers make me stand against a tree with an apple on my head," he explains, "so I don't like apples very much. One day though, I hope to be able to shoot an acorn off somebody's head because they're even smaller than apples. That's when I know I'll be as good as I want to be! So I always keep an acorn with me to remind myself of my goal, and I hope you succeed in your goal too. Have a safe journey, dungeoneer."
You look from the acorn that Quintain pressed into the palm of your hand to Quintain himself. Will you accept this gift? It will take up a place in your inventory for as long as you keep it. If you do want to keep it, add it to your inventory. Alternatively you may wait until Quintain's distracted by his target practice and throw it into the grass at the side of the track as you leave.
