Lisset's stunned by your description. By the time you've finished talking she's so excited about the idea that, perhaps one day, she might see one of these bears for herself that she can barely keep from bouncing around the room. "Oh, they sound so beautiful! Well, I imagine Old Jasper must have been quite jealous. No wonder he was so, well, grizzly." Then she looks at you, wonder still in her expression.
"Thank you," she says, and she means it sincerely. "Now, I have to repay you for telling me about this. First of all, you will probably meet Old Jasper later. Level 1 used to have a managerie as an annexe, although all the animals are gone now. Old Jasper died long ago but his ghost remains, and he charges anyone who comes close if he notices them. If you put down a bunch of fresh mint he'll go to that instead of coming at you. That's how you ensure your escape.
"Now, there's one last thing I can do for you." She reaches out her hand, which you take, and she pulls you towards the archway you entered by. "I'll guide you back to the dwarf tunnel. But don't ever try to do this without me, okay dungeoneer?" As you nod she pulls you through.
On the other side you find yourself in the dwarf tunnel, quite alone, her hand gone from yours.
Sir Escart hums approvingly. "That was a lucky escape, dungeoneer. I hope you don't waste it. And I don't think I'll forget that tale about the colourful bear in a hurry."
You try to figure out whether that means Sir Escart believed you too or whether he knew very well you were lying. You quite fail, and walk on with a sense of unease in your heart.
