The Night Shepherd's Cave

The room you step into looks as much like a cave as like a room. The walls and floor are made of roughly carved stone, either abandoned before the job was finished, or carved by an amateur. There is a window, but very little light reaches into the space, leaving large areas of shadow.

You are still making sense of all this when you hear feet shuffling in one of the shadows. "Who's there?" you say, hoping that it's a someone, and not a something.

There is a silence and you have no idea whether it's because there is a person who is hesitating, or whether it's an animal preparing to charge.

If you have the candle then you can light and raise it to banish the shadows. Do you choose to do so?

Yes | No

If you do not have the candle, choose no.
