Okay - one massive rant coming up.

Pinion started saying two or three things at once and didn't quite manage to say any of them. Those things included: "Of course I'm angry, they cut my wings!", "I've got every reason to be angry!", and "It's not easy being in here! I'm going insane!"

Instead it came out as a mish-mash of all of those and sounded something like, "I- If- Don't- You- You've got no idea what it's like in here! I'd rather live by myself than-" As a naturally flock-orientated bird Pinion couldn't quite back that up and started again. "They did this!" It abruptly opened one of its wings to show the crow its half-missing primaries. "See? And that never happens to wild birds, does it? Does it?" it honked, its gaze hard and challenging the crow to disagree.

The crow, as bright-eyed and light of body as ever, looked almost ready to take off and leave Pinion to its rant. "It doesn't, flamingo. Not that I've seen." It looked up at the sky. "The night's drawing in and I'd like to go to my roost. I'm sorry that you are angry. Goodnight, flamingo." Then it unfurled its wings and flew off into the dusky light, leaving Pinion shaking with fury and wondering why it had bothered to say anything.

Pinion's got a few options, but just for now it needs to think them over. Or rather, you do. You've just got the one option right now but that'll take you through to the whole range.
