Pinion tilted its head as it thought about what to do next. Did it really want to talk to the storks? They had no social cohesion, they bullied tiny birds, and they seemed to have no interest in making a better life for themselves. Perhaps it wasn't worth it. Even the other flamingos rarely bothered talking to the storks. As Pinion reflected on that it understood why.

With that, Pinion changed its mind about trying to talk with the crude, objectionable birds, and found a spot in its cage where it would be undisturbed while it thought.
